The weight

Ukulele Lesson

Untitled Capture6466Aug 25 2024.jpg

Today we are learning one of the most enduring songs of the 60's, a song that was featured in the iconic film "Easy Rider". Of course we're talking about The Weight, a song that perfectly exemplifies the folk-rock sound of "The Band".

All though it only contains four chords, this song is not without its challenges. I would recommend taking extra time to work on the transition between the G and the Bm barre chord in the verses.

Once you master it, this is a great song to whip out when everyone wants to sing something. If you would like to play it in the original key, put a capo on the 2nd fret.

If you're tuned up and ready to go, let's get started!
